AI agent for photo studios

Keep the original. Sell the mix.

DataPD is building an AI agent for self-portrait and photo studios. AI Curator (prototype) reviews each shot as it's taken, gives a short tip for the next one, and suggests the ones that came out well. The customer makes the final pick. AI Mix (in design) will use generative AI to turn shots the customer picks into new add-ons your studio can sell. Original files stay untouched.

AI Mix · in design

The original stays. The mix is new.

AI Mix is the generative side of the agent, now in design. When a customer asks for a mix, it will create something new from the shots they picked, saved as a separate file and labeled as made with AI. Your studio will decide which mixes to offer and what to charge, so a session can include an add-on to sell.

Nothing has been generated or sold yet, and we make no revenue promises.

  1. Pick

AI Curator suggests up to 12 shots that came out well. The customer chooses.

  2. Mix

If the customer wants one, generative AI will create a mix from a picked shot as a new file. The original will stay untouched.

  3. Sell

Your studio will offer the mix as an add-on, at the price you set. Customers who don't buy one will still get their shoot and originals as usual.

    Planned

Mixes we plan to offer (examples)

Concept mix
A picked shot with a new background, outfit or mood
Style mix
A watercolor, illustration or film look
Pet mix
A character or illustration made from a pet photo
Motion mix
A few seconds of motion from a single photo

All planned. We haven't decided which mixes come first.

How AI Mix will work

  • Original files will never be edited, overwritten or deleted. Every mix will be a new file.
  • Mixes will be made only when the customer asks.
  • Customers will be told up front that a mix is made with generative AI, and every mix will be clearly labeled as made with AI.
  • No mixes from ID or passport photos. Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not accept AI-edited passport photos.
  • Photos of adults and pets only. No mixes from any photo that includes a child.
  • Where mixes are generated (on the studio PC or by an external AI service), how long they are kept and how consent is collected will be published, and added to the privacy policy, before AI Mix starts.

AI agent · two ways

Subscribe, or have us build it

One AI agent, two ways to get it, depending on your studio's size. Both are still in development. Either way, AI Curator reviews shots on the studio PC, and photos are not sent outside the studio for that. Where AI Mix runs will be set out before it is offered.

Option 1 · SaaS

AI Curator subscription

For self-portrait studios and small studios. Currently for studios in Korea (Korean voice). Outside Korea, we start with a custom build.

Who it's for
Customers shoot with a remote, and tethering software saves JPG files to a folder on a Windows PC.
Setup
Planned: we install it on the studio PC and tune it to your lighting and camera.
Updates
Planned: updates install outside your shooting hours.
Support
Remote support is being designed so customer photos stay hidden on screen.
AI Mix
Planned as an add-on once ready · on request

Option 2 · Custom build

Your own AI studio agent

For larger studios, chains and studios outside Korea. We build it for you, then maintain it.

Build
Your branding, on-screen text, voice and language; the AI mixes that fit your products (once AI Mix is ready); rules for each type of shoot; and connections to the print or booking software you already use (scope agreed per project).
Maintenance
Compatibility updates, re-tuning when lighting or cameras change, and fixes.

How it works

Shoot, check, pick

It works on each shot just after it is taken. Live-view guidance is not available yet.

  1. Your tethering software saves each shot

AI Curator reads new JPG files in that folder on the studio PC. We'll confirm which camera and software combinations are supported when we talk.

  2. Each shot is checked

Closed eyes, expression, cropped heads, shoulders or feet, the number of people, blur, exposure, and whether a pet has left the frame.

  3. A short tip for the next shot

One sentence on screen and by voice.

  4. The customer picks

It suggests up to 12 shots that came out well. The customer makes the final pick.

For Korean passport and ID photos, it checks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules and, when staff ask, saves a cropped copy as a new file. The original stays untouched. It does not guarantee acceptance. Other countries' photo rules are not supported. AI Mix will never be used for ID or passport photos.

Principles

Ground rules

It never alters originals

AI Curator does no retouching, filters, background or face swaps, and original files are never changed or deleted. AI Mix won't overwrite them either: every mix will be a separate new file.

AI Curator does not identify people

No face recognition and no face templates. It checks the shot, not the person.

Shot review stays on the studio PC

AI Curator checks photos in the browser on the studio PC. It does not send them to a server for that, and it does not use them for AI training. Where AI Mix will run (studio PC or an external AI service) is not decided yet; we'll say so before it starts.

Customers know it's AI, and can switch it off

Customers are told up front that the tips come from AI, and can turn them off with one button (labelled in Korean in the prototype). AI mixes will be made only on request, and labeled as made with AI. Privacy and AI rules differ by country, so before use we go through the customer notice and privacy wording with each studio. This is not legal advice, and in some places we cannot offer it yet.

Original Data proof

Register the originals you hand over

Studios will be able to register the original files they give to customers. The record keeps each file's fingerprint (SHA-256 hash), which studio registered it, and when. Anyone can then check whether a file they have is byte-for-byte the same as the registered one. DataPD does not receive the file.

It does not check whether the content is true, whether it was made with AI, who first created it, copyright, or legal effect.

LIVE ARCHIVE

Life in Visual Evolution

A timeline that will bring a customer's original photos and videos together in chronological order, such as yearly family portraits or a child growing up. Files will be kept only with the customer's consent, and they can ask for deletion.

Where things stand

AI Curator is an internal prototype, not yet released, and no studio uses it yet. Its first site will be Dr. Choi Photo Studio (최박사 사진관) in Daegu, Korea, a self-portrait studio run by DataPD that is preparing to open. We are building AI Curator so that other studios can use it too. AI Mix is still in design.

We are now taking inquiries from studios, and pilot applications for AI Curator. Pricing is on request. Tell us your country and city, how many studio rooms or booths you have, your camera and tethering software, the shoots you do most, and the add-on products you'd like to sell. Pilot availability depends on local privacy rules; we'll tell you whether we can support your location.

Please do not attach photos. How we keep and delete inquiry and pilot-application emails is set out in our privacy policy (in Korean).
